Palm Beach County's Mayor Indicates The County Is Nearly Ready For Phase 2

One South Florida county could move into Phase 2 of reopening before the rest.

Palm Beach County Mayor Dave Kerner told Governor DeSantis on Monday that the county is getting to a place where it is ready to move onto the next phase, but wouldn't put a time frame on it.

The number of new COVID-19 cases has been dropping to its lowest level since early June, so he laid out a general path that the county would take to lift restrictions on businesses and pave the way for schools to reopen classrooms.

Palm Beach has been held back from Phase 2, along with Broward and Miami-Dade, as the three counties have the most cases of coronavirus in the state.
