Doughnut Dispute at Florida Krispy Kreme Leads to Stabbing

A Krispy Kreme employee gave a guest serious stab wounds instead of doughnuts.

Julius Irving, 32, was arrested on a charge of attempted murder following a dispute over the doughnut making process.

Gainesville police said Irving was arguing with his a co-worker about the way she was making doughnuts, so she called her boyfriend to come pick her up. When her boyfriend arrived, he confronted Irving and a fight ensued.

During the altercation, Irving grabbed a 4-inch knife and stabbed the victim in his upper torso, stomach and thigh. The employee's boyfriend was taken to a hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery and is expected to survive.

Police said Irving was arrested and confessed to attacking the victim. He is currently held without bond at an Alachua County jail.

“The safety of our guests and team members is our top priority. Our independently owned and operated franchisee is cooperating with law enforcement. We are keeping the victim in our thoughts and prayers. The suspect no longer works for this franchisee,” said Kryspy Kreme in a released statement.
