Day 6 Florida Legislative Session – Sanctuary Cities

I’m doing a daily recap of some of the notable developments from this year's legislative session. Here are some Highlights from Tallahassee.

On the fifth day, the “Sanctuary Cities” bill passed the Senate Infrastructure and Security Committee on a party-line vote. The House Criminal Justice Subcommittee passed a bill that reconciles Florida policy on older criminal sentencing guidelines passed in last year’s Amendment 11. The Human Trafficking bill proposed by Lauren Book in the Senate passed the Senate Community Affairs Committee. Lastly, Five Environmental bills providing for additional funds for natural land preservation, water preservation, sewage regulations and regulations related to infrastructure projects passed the Senate Committee on Environment and Natural Resources.
