Florida Corrections Sued On Allegations They Stole Inmates' Digital Media

(Tallahassee, FL) -- A newly-filed lawsuit accuses the Florida Department of Corrections of stealing digital music and books purchased by inmates.

The suit alleges that the Department of Corrections sold the digital music and books to inmates for six years under the promise that the media would be owned by the inmates for life.

The federal class-action lawsuit claims a total of eleven-point-three million dollars was spent by inmates on digital media from 2011 to 2017.

It goes on to say inmates had their digital media players, songs, and books taken away when a new agreement was made with a media seller.
