Trustees at Florida International University have announced that they will not be renaming their campus.
In a 7-6 vote, trustees at FIU decided to keep Modesto A. Maidique's name on the campus, despite his vocal criticism of their performance since his retirement.
In a statement, Maidique said he was grateful for the trustees' decision.
