Woman Arrested In Connection To Miami Tourist Theft

Police in Miami-Dade have arrested a 23-year-old woman in connection to the theft of tens of thousands of dollars in jewelry from a tourist.

New Jersey resident Israel Sosa was visiting South Florida on June 15. Sosa told local news outlets that, while on his visit, he met a woman at the Blue Martini in Brickell.

After a night of drinking, the pair went upstairs and spent the night together, according to Sosa.

Upon waking, though, he discovered that the woman was gone and that she had stolen his gold chain, a diamond-encrusted Rolex watch and $5,000 in cash.

The stolen goods were worth about $70,000.

Early Friday morning, authorities took Kira White into custody.

Police say White entered Blue Martini again, and that several employees recognized her as the "Rolex robber" and notified authorities.

White is now facing charges of grand theft.
