More Than 100 New Florida Laws Go Into Effect This Weekend

Over the weekend, more than 100 news laws will go into effect throughout the state of Florida.

The new laws include:

  • An expansion of voucher-like scholarships to send more public school students to private schools
  • A marriage ban for those under 18
  • A memorial that will be built in Tallahassee to honor slaves in Florida history

Lawmakers also agreed to a change to year-round daylight-saving time in the Sunshine State, which still needs congressional approval.

There's also a $170 million tax cut package for farmers and property owners affected by Hurricane Irma.
