A Florida couple says they woke up Wednesday morning to find a 300-pound alligator swimming around in their backyard pool.
Connie and Frank Shaffery live in a Sarasota neighborhood. They say they went to their patio to enjoy a cup of coffee on Wednesday and found the scaly visitor.
According to WPTV-TV in West Palm Beach, the animal broke through the couple's screen to get into the pool.
Wildlife officials removed the alligator.
They estimate the animal is between 15 and 20 years old.
