Ex-Gymnastics Dr. Larry Nassar Sentenced Up To 175 Yrs For Sex Assault

Former Michigan, Olympic, and National gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar has been sentenced to 40 to 175 years in prison for sexually assaulting women and girls after hearing where more than 150 accusers described molestations.

The sentence comes after an emotional seven days in court.

According to CNN, "168 impact statements were read, including 156 from victims themselves." The women described years of abuse they suffered at the hands of Nassar and explained "how Nassar used his respected position to molest young injured girls seeking medical treatment."

"I just signed your death warrant," Judge Rosemarie Aquilina told Larry Nassar during the sentencing hearing.

Aquilina said Nassar should never set foot outside of a prison again.

"You did this for your pleasure and your control," Aquilina said. "You knew you had a problem."

Nassar, 54, has already been sentenced to 60 years in federal prison for child pornography crimes.

He is scheduled to be sentenced next week on more assault convictions in Eaton County, Michigan.
