A Miami-Dade Police officer is in the hospital after being involved in a Monday morning crash in Cutler Bay.
The crash took place just before 2:30 a.m. near the intersection of SW 87th Avenue and 190th Street.
The officer reportedly hit another car before slamming into a tree, pinning them inside of the car (officials have not yet confirmed those events).
The officer, who has yet to be identified, was eventually taken out of the car by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue and wheeled to a nearby chopper, where they were airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital South.
The officer’s condition is unknown at this time.
No other injuries were reported.
