Baby Born During Irma Found Dead In Mother's Car

A baby boy born prematurely in West Palm Beach during Hurricane Irma is dead after being found in his mother's car.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office and DCF confirmed that a woman sought medical attention at St. Mary's Medical Center last Thursday, about four days after delivery, for complications she experienced after a home birth.

The mother, who is in her mid-20s, likely birthed the child as the storm raged over south Florida on Sunday, Sept. 10th.

DCF records mention allegations that the mother hid the body and didn’t tell anyone about the birth.

No word on any arrests in the case.
