Is Amazon Price Gouging Bottled Water Ahead Of Hurricane Irma?

Accusations are pointing the finger at Amazon, claiming that the online giant is price gouging bottled water.

Many are turning to the convenience of the online marketplace as local stores shelves are going bare ahead of Hurricane Irma.

Amazon is currently listing a 24-pack of Aquafina water for $38.88, almost quadruple the normal price during non-emergencies. That price does not include shipping and handling.

Similarly, one gallon of Deer Park distilled water is selling on the site for $21.95.

Price gouging is illegal once a state of emergency has been declared in a specific area. Gov. Rick Scott issued the state of emergency order for the entire state of Florida on Monday.
