The Miami-Dade Police Department, along with other departments around the country, have turned to social media hashtags to promote a nighttime routine to reduce neighborhood crime.
They're calling it the "9 P.M. Routine".and detectives are calling it a good way to reduce the number of crimes of opportunity.
It's a reminder to make sure your home is safe ans secure before heading off to bed. The routine should include locking your car doors and windows, bringing any packages inside, and of course, locking your home's entrances.
The effort stretched beyond South Florida, as well, and across the country!
