Jacksonville Jags Defensive End Facing Battery, Mischief Charges

Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Dante Fowler Jr. is facing charges of simple battery and mischief.

Fowler was arrested in St. Petersburg Tuesday night following an altercation at an apartment complex.

According to the police report, Fowler got out of his car and confronted a man after he made comments about his driving.  Fowler allegedly hit the man, stomped on his glasses and threw his grocery bag in a nearby lake.

The Jaguars issued a statement saying they are aware of the situation and are currently gathering more information.

The 22-year-old Fowler appeared in all 16 games with the Jags last season and had 32 tackles and four sacks.  He missed his entire rookie year with a torn ACL.
