Florida Cracking Down On Careless, Irresponsible Drivers

Florida is one of five Southeastern states cracking down on traffic this week.

The idea of the "crackdown" is to use extra law enforcement officers to cut the number of drivers who are speeding, impaired, distracted and not wearing seat belts.

"Operation Southern Shield" started yesterday, with funding for overtime provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The program is also being done in Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee
