Gov. Scott To Talk Law Enforcement Pay Raise With Florida Highway Patrol

Gov. Rick Scott is back in town Wednesday morning.

Scott is in Miami and planning to visit the Florida Highway Patrol Troop E headquarters on 111th avenue to highlight the 5 percent pay raise for sworn state law enforcement officers included in the Fighting for Florida’s Future Budget.

Wednesday, Scott said, “With a 46-year low in crime, Florida’s law enforcement officers and state employees help make our state the best place in the nation to live, work and raise a family. I am proud of all they have accomplished for Florida families.”

The latest numbers show that there are 200 vacancies in our state for Troopers. Scott says he will continue to work to see that law enforcement jobs get fulfilled while fairly paying those in position.
