Trump Administration Puts Heat on Venezuelan Government

The United States is putting pressure on the Venezuelan Government by threatening to suspend them from the Organization of American States.

Florida International University's Dr. Frank Mora says he's curious to know why the Trump Administration doesn't expel them now.

"Curious to see why the Trump Administration doesn't believe that Venezuela shouldn't quite yet be expelled from the OAS.  It's what is called for under the Inter-American Democratic Charter, which is why a lot of people were talking about applying that charter to Venezuela.  They haven't gone all the way, but they're certainly continuing what President Obama did," said Dr. Mora.

In February, President Trump issued sanctions against Venezuelan Vice President, Tareck El Aissami, accusing him of drug trafficking and money-laundering.
