Aventura Police Hope New DNA Technology Cracks Cold Case

Aventura Police are using new technology to help catch the killer on a cold case homicide investigation.

On July 25, 2001, Irving Harold Sicherer, was found dead inside his home at the Waterview Condominium on East Country Club Drive in Aventura.  Police say the 76-year-old was brutally murdered.  Despite several leads, detectives say it has remained a cold case.

Now police are releasing images of what the person of interest looks like based on forensic DNA.  "Snapshot" is a service that uses the DNA to accurately predict the physical appearance of an unknown person.

The person of interest can be seen with Mr. Sicherer in Publix in the video surveillance above.  If you have any information regarding this case, call the Aventura Police Department 305-466-8999 or Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers 305-471-TIPS.
