The Biden administration plans to reclassify marijuana as a less dangerous drug, but it will still remain a controlled substance.

The U.S. DEA is set to reclassify marijuana as less dangerous which would be an historic shift reshaping American drug policy.

The tweak of the 50-year-old Controlled Substances Act would reclassify pot to a category that includes Tylenol with codeine and steroids but will not decriminalize it nationally.

The proposal would recognize the medicinal benefits of cannabis.

During his state of the Union address, Biden said, "No one should be jailed for using or possessing marijuana."
