Marlins Lose Pitching Dual

The Miami Marlins went out to clinch its first series win of the season, but fell short late against the San Francisco Giants 3-1.

The third game of the series was defensive battle between the Marlins and the visiting Giants. The right-handed Keaton Winn took the mound for the Giants, and picked up his first win of the season. Winn allowed four hits, struck out four and gave up one run. For the Fish, Trevor Rogers gave up one run with six strikeouts in his 5.2 innings of work. The Giants used a lot of small ball to get all of its three runs, while Bryan De La Cruz was the lone source of offense for the Marlins hitting his third homer of the season.

The Marlins will now travel the Chicago for a four game set against the Cubs. Game one of that series begins Thursday at 7:40 p.m., coverage begins at 7:10 p.m. on Fox Sports 940am, or listen locally on the iHeartRadio App.
